Summer in Levico Terme

In the summer, Levico Terme turns into one of the most interesting areas in Trentino for those who want a holiday away from mass tourism, to rediscover nature and tratdition. In the Valsugana Valley, where Levico Terme is located, the relationship with the earth is profound and informed. Many of the local networks promote the development of the territory, from products from the land to the tradition of breeding horses and the rediscovery of ancient local crafts. Important events renew the values ??of a conscious way of living, full and healthy, and with Slowfood presiding, many interesting food and wine tours have been created.

Spending a summer in Levico Terme in Trentino means coming into contact with the people. Their great helpfulness and warm reception help you get to know a little-explored land with a wealth of resources. The Valsugana offers lakes and biotopes, WWF sanctuaries and ecomuseums for those who want to discover the fauna and flora of the area. Hikers and mountain bikers can explore the crown of mountain ranges, which features the unspoilt beauty of the Lagorai. There is a dense network of trails and roads through the mountain and valley that also make it make it the kingdom of motorcyclists and bikers, who will find themselves particularly welcome and well looked-after in this area.

In the summer, our Hotel Ambassador in Levico Terme is an excellent and strategic restoration point, a starting point for fascinating outdoor adventures in the open-air gym which is the Valsugana in Trentino. In our Lagorai & SPA wellness centre, you look after yourself first and foremost, resting your mind and body, while the children play in the outdoor pool. A few steps away is the lake, a cool dark fjord, equipped for a relaxing day. The next morning, regenerated, you are ready to discover the Valsugana, the beautiful and generous land.

Walking and hiking

Valsugana and the Lagorai have a wealth of trails leading through an abundant and varied natural setting, through woods, mule tracks and broad meadows, along steep ridges and unforgettable views. The S.A.T. has more than one hundred trails marked, for hiking or for quiet walks. There are some interesting suggestions at visittrentino.it and visitvalsugana.it.On the website of Accompagnatori di Territorio del Trentino instead you can book expert guides to accompany you, who will help you learn about the flora and fauna of the area. Of course, we are on hand to advise you as to the best routes.

Climbs and acrobatic routes

The natural cliffs of the Lagorai, from the Crozi di Sella to the Placche dell'Armentera, are an interesting terrain for climbers to explore. There are many routes, different rock types and degrees of climbing difficulty: from the cliffs to the fissures, from small holds to large handles, the routes are a challenge for those who love this sport. For those who want to test their balance and face the heights, at Centa San Nicolò near Caldonazzo is the Acropark, a vertical climbing obstacle course, fun for both children and adults!

Water, land and sky

The mild summer climate lets you explore the surroundings of Levico Terme, immersed in the elements of this fascinating area of ??Trentino. The Valsugana, with its gentle hill plains, its lakes and steep mountain ridges, can be intensely experienced in the variety of sports on water, land and in the air.

The Levico and Caldonazzo lakes are first and foremost a haven for those who love water sports. In Caldonazzo, at the Centro Nautico, also accessible to the disabled, there is water skiing, windsurfing, sailing, canoeing, rowing and Dragon Boat racing, a fascinating Chinese sport. In Levico, instead, you will find peace, with a quiet swim, a pedal boat or fishing. For those who love the adrenaline of rafting, on the Brenta River there are 10 km of varying difficulty from paddling, in some places for families, to challenges for professionals in others.

From the water you go to the air, and for those who love to fly a paraglider, at the top of the Panarotta, at 2000 m of height, is a formidable take-off point for travelling over the magnificent Valsugana, the Brenta Dolomites and the Lagorai. For adventure, there is the "Volo Libero Trentino" club, in Vetriolo Terme.

Finally, from the air to the land, a fascinating underground world awaits you in the famous caves of Castello Tesino, the only ones that can be visited in the Trentino region. Otherwise, another wonderful way to experience the land is in the saddle on horseback. Horse breeding and riding are an important part of the culture of Valsugana, and therefore, there are numerous equestrian centres and riding schools. Not to be missed is the horse trail ippovia del Trentino Orientale a trail that winds throughout the Lagorai in stages.
